Eloise E. Van Hise, 96, of Franklin Grove passed away March 14, 2012, at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation.
Eloise was born June 15, 1915, in Ohio City, Ohio, the daughter of Anna Siniff and William Eber. She married Dean Van Hise on May 3, 1947, in Rochelle, Il.
Eloise was a teacher and librarian in the Lee County school system for 26 years. She was a member of the Illinois Retired Teacher Association, National Education Association, Franklin Grove Area Historical Society (Founding member), Living History Antique Equipment Association, China Unit of The Home Extension Association, member of the United Methodist Church of Franklin Grove, and a graduate of U of I, MS. 1940. She was a correspondent for many years for the Rochelle News-Leader, Ashton Gazette, and Dixon Telegraph.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha Van Hise of Gleneden Beach, OR.; one brother, F. William Eber of Rochelle, and one sister Mary Elizabeth Frooman of Highland Park, Il. and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dean Van Hise.
