Eloise “Sally” (Leadley) Bierie, 89 of Mallard died October 25, 2016 at Jones Regional Hospital, Anamosa, Iowa.
Sally is the daughter of Bernice Sands Leadley Larson and Donald Leadley. She was raised and educated in Mallard and graduated from the Mallard High School in 1945. On December 14, 1946 Sally was united in marriage with Paul O. Bierie in Sioux City, Iowa.
She spent her life in Mallard except for a short while in Washington State when Paul was called back into the Navy. Survivors include her husband Paul, Anamosa, Iowa, stepbrother Ted (Norma Jean) Larson of Mallard, sister in laws Anne Larson of Buffalo Center, IA, and Maxine Benzine of Cedar Rapids, IA as well as nieces and nephews.
Sally loved to entertain evidenced by the fact that the family has found boxes of napkin and tablecloth sets. She played cards like a “mad woman” according to many. She also loved to read. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jane Clagett, half brother Andy and a sister in infancy.
