Our beloved mother, Eloisa Alvarado Garza, went to be with the Lord our Savior on September 20, 2013 after a wonderful life of 97 years. She was born to Jose Alvarado Sr. and Romana S. Alvarado on November 8, 1915 in Laredo, Texas. Eloisa was preceded in death by her daughter, Annabella A. Laurel Rickel, her husband, Lauro Garza, her ex-husband, Amado B. Laurel, her brothers, Matilde Alvarado and Jose Alvarado, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Amado Ernesto Laurel (Sandra) of Boerne, Tx., Guillermo Pablo Laurel (Linda) of Houston, Tx., and her two grandchildren, Cory Cathleen Laurel (Austin) and David William Laurel (San Antonio). Eloisa was a friendly and loving person who enjoyed celebrating life with family and friends. She was generous, gentle, and caring to her family, friends and acquaintances, and will be missed by family and friends that knew her best. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Cibolo Creek Nursing Home and staff of Alamo Hospice for their loving care of our mother and for being with her as she peacefully passed away.
