Elnora Lucille Buhl of Hebron, NE the daughter of Steven and Bertha (Tracy) Pitts was born May 20, 1916 in Belvidere, NE. She departed this life Saturday October 30, 2010 at Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home in Hebron, NE at the age of 94 years.
The family moved and made their home in Alexandria, NE for several years and then moved to Gilead, NE. Elnora attended schools in both places. On June 25, 1938, she was united in marriage to Alfred(Bud) Buhl in York, NE. This union was blessed with the birth of two daughters.
The family then moved to Hebron, NE and in October of 1953 they moved to Fullerton, CA. Elnora worked for the “Auto Club” as a cashier. In 1959, they returned to Hebron. She worked at Christensen Drug Store, Gene Elders Jewelry Store, Betty Elders Dress Shop, and Hebron Style Shop. Elnora retired in 1977. Elnora was a active member of the First Christian Church in Hebron, NE. She enjoyed her church friends, and held various offices in the Women’s church group CWF. She was a charter member of the Hebron Extension Office for almost 50 years, President and District Vice President of the VFW Auxiliary, a Legion Auxiliary member for 43 years. Elnora and her husband Bud worked many hours to help get the Legion Club open and continued to work there later on.
She is preceded by her parents, her husband Bud, brothers; and Elmer Pitts and wife Helen, Milford and wife Mildred, Harold Pitts and wife Margaret, two sisters, Alene Shipman and husband Francis, Bernice Carter, and brother-in-law LeRoy Tryon.
She is survived by two daughters; Sue Templin and husband Dick of Hebron, NE, Cindia Hanneman of York, NE, brother-in-law Kenneth Carter of Olatha, KS, sister Sally Tryon of Marysville, KS, four grandchildren; Alicia Teinert and husband Sean of Lincoln, NE, Becky Robertson and husband Mark of Lincoln, NE, Lori Schardt and husband Dale of Dehsler, NE, and Brad Templin and wife Tisha of Hebron, NE, eight great-grandchildren; Maggie and Hannah Robertson, Logan, Shelby and Carlee Schardt, Riley and Luke Templin and Cameron Teinert, other relatives and a host of friends.
