Elna Angela King Stephenson, 95, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at her home in Layton, Utah on February 11, 2022, just days shy of her 96th birthday. She was born February 16, 1926, to George Edward King and Lillian Weekes King in Rexburg, Idaho.
Elna married Vinson Douglas Stephenson in the Logan LDS Temple on December 19, 1949. She had five children: Karen Amundsen, Marian Merkley, Joanne Duffin, Ralph Stephenson, and Ruth Vassar. She was the proud grandmother to 22 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren.
Throughout her life, both in California and Utah, Elna held many Church callings, which she loved. She was a voracious reader and a strong proponent of the value of education. When the opportunity arose in midlife, she obtained an associate degree from San Bernardino Valley College in southern California in business and office management, which she used in multiple jobs thereafter.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and was preceded in death by her husband.
