Newark/Phelps – Elmer S. Peck, 88 died Friday, November 22, 2002 at the Wayne County Nursing Home.

Elmer was past Director of the Finger Lakes Farm Credit Association and the Ontario Farm Extension Service. He was member of the GLF and the DHIC. He served on the Phelps School Board for many years.

Elmer and his wife, Viola owned and operated a dairy farm on Route 14 in Phelps for several years before moving on Pelis Road in the town of Arcadia and establishing EL-VI Farms which the family still own and operate today.

Elmer will be missed by his sons James (Ann) of Newark, Richard (Carol) of Montana, Donald (Nancy) of Virginia and Ted (Carol) Peck of Newark; daughter Janet (Donald) Stevens of Massachusetts; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; brothers Harold (Shirley) of Florida, Nathan (Florence) of Phelps and Robert Peck of Clifton Springs; sisters Ethel Warburton of Oswego, Blanche Gifford of Phelps, Alice (Joe) Blankenhorn of Massachusetts, Gertrude Bennett of Phelps and Shirley (Robert) Totman of Red Hook; many nieces and nephews.

Elmer was predeceased by his loving wife Viola Shuster Peck on April 28, 1995. Brother Everett Peck and sisters Anna Shuster and Glenna Lawson.
