Elmer O. “Sked” Homans, 92, of East Hartford died peacefully on Monday, January 9, 2017 after a brief illness. He was born on December 31, 1924 in Springfield, MA son of the late William and Lillian (Thayer) Homans. Sked was raised in Springfield, attended local schools and was a 1956 graduate of Hillyer College in Hartford with a BA in Business. He enlisted in the US Army in 1943 serving his country during WW II in the 85th Mountain Infantry Regiment.
