Elmer Hunt, 81, of Harrisburg, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at his home.
Mr. Hunt was born on February 4, 1941, to the late Elmer and Della Hunt. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by seven siblings; first wife, Edith “Edie” Hunt; second wife, Nancy Hunt.
Mr. Hunt was an Army veteran that served his country from 1959 – 1962. Elmer retired from construction to spend time with his family and watch his grandchildren compete in sports, regardless of the season. He still managed to work part-time at Harrisburg Hardware and volunteer at Atrium NorthEast Hospital. Elmer enjoyed fishing and bowling in his spare time and was a faithful member of Harrisburg Baptist Church for nearly 50 years. He loved Jesus with all his heart and led his family by his example.
Survivors include, son, Paul Hunt and wife, Sandy of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Heather Almond and husband, Jeremy of Mount Pleasant, Jake Hunt and wife, Channing of Midland, Andy Hunt and wife, Anna of Concord, Ally Hutchens and husband, Kyle of Thomasville; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Maddox Almond, Emory and Easton Hunt, Kane Hutchens; brothers, Charles Hunt and wife, Susie of Mint Hill, James Hunt and wife, Alice of Rowland; sister, Rena Mae Hunt, of Florence, SC; several nieces and nephews and special friend Claire Hurlburt.
