Elmer H. Schrowang, 83 of Peru, died peacefully at home surrounded by his children on July 4, 2015.
Elmer was born in Granville on August 8, 1931 to August and Christine (Wege) Schrowang. He married Mary E. Freebern in Peoria on March 22, 1951. He was a farmer and worked at Maze Nails in Peru as a Machinist until retirement.

Mr. Schrowang is survived by three daughters, Christine (David) Znaniecki of Peru, Virginia Taylor of Mendota and Cindy Wagner of Peru; two sons, Michael (Tamara) Schrowang of McNabb and Russell (Sue) Schrowang of Georgetown,TX; sixteen grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Elinor Vaughn of Peru and Ilene Shaw of Dalzell; three brothers, Howard Schrowang of Granville, Lloyd (Loretta) Schrowang and Edward (Nancy) Schrowang of the state of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary on March 23, 2012, parents and two grandchildren, Samantha and Anthony.
