Elmer Byron Emig, 92, of Great Falls, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 of natural causes at a local care facility.
Elmer was born on March 17, 1923 in Elwood, Indiana to parents Elmer and Clara Emig. The family later moved to Florida where he attended high school. Elmer joined the United States Air Force in 1940, which he proudly served until he retired as a Senior Master Sergeant with 20 years of service to his nation. He was a proud veteran to have survived WWII with additional tours spent in Korea. On June 28th, 1941, Elmer married the love of his life, Martha Whitcomb with whom he spent 51 beautiful years as a devoted husband and loving father to their only child Patricia. Sadly, Martha passed away in 1992. He later married again in 2007, to his beloved Peggy Boboth with whom he spent the remainder of his days until her passing in 2010.
Elmer was an Air Force career man through and through, but still found time to enjoy working with wood and gardening. He would spend months at a time decorating the outside of his house for the Christmas holiday season. His family though, would always come first.
Those survived by Elmer are his daughter, Patricia Ann Aristonic and her partner, John Benski of Great Falls; grandchildren, Korie Kelleher of Great Falls; Tony Aristonic of Casper, WY; 2 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; and his wives, Martha and Peggy.
