Those left to honor Elmer’s memory are his son, Richard (and Mary Lou) Doak of Polk City, Iowa; 2 daughters, Patricia (and Verland) Beckham of Newton and Karen Doak of Newton; his 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; his 1 great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, William S. and Lilyan (Carpenter) Doak; wife, Mildred in 1985; his three brothers, Leslie, Robert, and Clark Doak; and sister, Esther Loupee.
Elmer worked in machining at the Maytag Company for 35 years, retiring in 1975.
