Elmer Anton Kassens was born September 30, 1926 in Wendell, Idaho. He passed away on February 18, 2019 in Meridian, Idaho after living for 92 years.
Here are a few things about this amazing man.
He served in the Army at the end of WWII and continued to until the war had many jobs including logging, a mine and traffic engineer but his most important job was being a father.
He was smart, witty, strong, loving and caring.  Even though he suffered from dementia for the past year he never forgot who his family was.     He loved watching his grandchildren run around and play.
Last week we had some family in town and he was concerned about where they were staying for the is the kind of person he was.  Always worried about someone else. He was giving. He helped anyone who needed it, often going without just to bring a smile to someone’s face.
2 years ago his daughter in law’s father was here repairing their roof and Elmer was up there trying to was strong!
At 92 he got around without a a boss!
He loved the outdoors!  He wasn’t able to get out much lately but he loved reading about camping and fishing.  Most of his son Michael’s memories of his childhood consist of them taking RV trips together where they hiked, camped, fish and had great adventures.
He is survived by his son Michael David and his daughter in law Angelina, his son Keith and daughter in law Donna, his daughter Sandy Kassens and his grandkids Ryan, Kyle, Amelia, Michael and Marcus and his dog Sammy.
We are never ready to loose someone we love but we are so grateful that we had him as long as we did.
We will never stop missing him.
