Elma R. Mogler, 96 of West Bend died Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the West Bend Care Center. Elma (Zaugg) Mogler, the daughter of William and Rosa Christian Zaugg, was born January 7, 1920 in West Bend, Iowa where she was raised and educated, graduating from the West Bend High School in 1938. She worked at Jensen and Bolsted in West Bend. On March 16, 1947 she was united in marriage with Ervin Mogler at the Apostolic Christian Church. The couple lived and farmed in the West Bend area, lived in Ottosen for a time, returning to West Bend in 1960. Survivors include her children, Beverly Knapp and Joan (Gerald) Rudin of Cissna Park, IL, Mary (Manuel) Gerber of West Bend, IA, Harriet (Bruce) Metzger of Alvord, IA, and Charles (Beth) Mogler of West Bend, IA; 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, her sister Ruby (Bob) Besch of Rodman, IA, sisters-in-law, Dorothy Zaugg and Frances Zaugg. The Moglers were also blessed to have Connie Gerst living with them for 5 years. Elma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ervin in 1995, a son Curtis, and siblings: Louisa, Walter, Ed, Oscar, Leah, Eva, Mabel, Richard, Clarence, Betty and Donald as well as 2 great grandchildren.
