Elma M. Richards, 89, of Springfield, IL and formerly of Ashland, IL died Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield.
She was born February 20, 1922 in Auburn, IL; the daughter of William Elmer and Mae Bleeks Nation. She married Paul O. Richards on January 1, 1948 in Springfield and he preceded her in death on October 18, 1993.
She is survived by a son, Roy A. Richards (wife, Rhonda) of Redding, CA; a daughter, Ruth A. Dunn (husband, Jeff) of Mountain Home, AR; two grandchildren, Joel and Jason Richards; a great grandchild, Tristan Richards; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Dorthea Nation.
Mrs. Richards provided clerical work for several Springfield offices and assisted her husband with their family farming operation. She was a former member of the Ashland Church of Christ and more recently a member of First Baptist Church in Ashland.
