Ellis Simon Warren Sr., 90, Huachuca City, AZ Ellis passed away peacefully on May 30th, 2020.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years Cecilia “Sheila” Warren.

He leaves behind four sons and three daughters: Ellis S. Warren Jr of Parker, CO, John Warren of Bullhead City, AZ, David Warren of Allendale, MI, Glen Warren of Washington, DC, Karen Rice of Versailles, KY, Kathleen Fitzgerald of Prior Lake, MN and Karlene Warren of Cynthiana, KY. He also leaves behind three Daughters-In-Law and two Sons-In-Law: Denise Warren of Langley, British Columbia, Samantha Warren of Boise, ID, Lisa Warren of Allendale, MI, Mark Rice of Versailles, KY and Bob Fitzgerald of Prior Lake, MN. Ellis leaves behind 18 Grandchildren: Robert Warren, Anthony Warren, Gregory Warren, Victor Warren, Terrell Warren, Dustin Evanson, Kortnie McGinty, Weston Warren, Jaden Warren, Madilyn Warren, Colin Warren, Gavin Warren, Tyler Warren, Emma Warren, Sarah Warren, Seth Warren, Shelby Warren and Jakob Warren; including four Great Grandchildren: Brantley Warren, Tanner Warren, Aubrey Harlow and Mason Harlow. Also, his former spouse Mary Metzger, a kindred spirit.

Ellis was preceded in death by son James Warren, beloved daughter Roxanne Warren and Grandson Josh Rice.

Ellis Simon Warren Sr, was born January 3rd, 1930 in Waterbury, CT and passed away May 30th, 2020 in Huachuca City, AZ.

He grew up in Watertown, CT and was drafted into the Army in 1952 serving in South Korea. Afterwards he chose a full active duty career which included numerous tours in Germany and stateside. Ellis served two tours in South Vietnam as an advisor for MAC-V. From Jan 1966 – Jan 1967 and again Oct 1970 – Oct 1971. During his duty in combat he was awarded the Bronze Star with “V” device for Valor and two Oak Leaf Clusters denoting multiple awards plus a Meritorious Unit Citation.

An old Cavalryman, Ellis will forever be remembered as “Top” Soldier or “Topper”.
