Mr. Ellis Yarbrough, 83, of Newnan peacefully slipped from life in this world on February 13, 2020, at his residence in the loving care of his family.
He was born May 9, 1936, in Newnan to the late Olin and Rosa Bell Faver Yarbrough. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Ellis served in The United States Air Force. He retired from Owens Corning as a maintenance mechanic. Ellis was a dedicated member of Crossroads Church for over 30 years. He loved hunting, fishing, playing softball, basketball, and gardening. His greatest joy, however, was the time he spent with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who modeled for his family, his strong faith in the God he loved and served all his life. Ellis is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jane Yarbrough. Their children are David (and Donna) Yarbrough, Scott (and Jackie) Yarbrough, and Kathy Jones. His surviving siblings are Novelle Dennis, Mary (and Doug) Shoemake, Stanley (and Linda) Yarbrough, all of Newnan. He was the much-loved grandfather to Kasey (and Lee) Tilley, Jake (and Tracey) Jones, Summer (and Steven) Ely, Luke (and Haley) Jones, Bianca (and Jeremiah) Stingl, Melanie and (Mike Yarbrough) Burtch, DeAnn (and D. J.) Robertson, Tiffany (and Parker) Smith, Erin (and Kris) Woodard. There are 12 great-grandchildren.
