Ellis Eugene Boyd was born on May 31, 1939 to Elmer and Geneva Ingram Boyd in Long Beach, California. He has one sister, Shirley Dye of Spokane Washington. Ellis was raised in Lynwood, California and after graduating from Lynwood High School he attended Compton, Junior College. For about 30 years he worked as an auto painter until his ordination into the ministry on October 24, 1983. He then pastored House OfPrayer for more than 20 years.
On November 12, 1960, Ellis married Lois Arivett Boyd and together that have four daughters, Karen, Sheryl, Amy and Ellyssa and two granddaughters, Jordanne and Rachel. In 2014, after several years of failing health, Ellis received a heart transplant, and the family was blessed to spend an additional 8 years with him.
During the last 5 years of this life, Ellis required dialysis treatments and he was blessed with a wonderful group of caregivers and family that made the difficult treatments bearable. Ellis truly loved his Lord Jesus, his family, friends, and anyone who needed his help. He will be remembered for this generous, loving heart and for making this world a better place.
We will miss him.
