Ellen Louise Turner, 70, of O’Fallon, Ill., born January 21, 1936 in rural Marion, Ill., died Sunday, October 22, 2006 in Trenton, Ill, after an 8 year battle with cancer. Ellen was a retired real estate agent, having worked for Keller Williams, ReMax and Strano. Selling real estate was one of her greatest passions along with loving the Lord, her family, her friends and her church. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of O’Fallon, Ill and the Realtor’s Association of Belleville. Ellen was a woman who enjoyed the beauty of life, whether it was the colorful fall leaves, Christmas lights, lunches with friends or large Sunday family dinners.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Vilas Turner Jr., who died in January of 2005, her parents, James & Stella Mae, nee Lannom, Crites, in-laws Vilas and Eva Turner and a brother Larry Crites. Surviving are her children; Cathy (Steve) Jacober of Trenton, Ill., Steve (Sheri) Turner of Jackson, MO., proud grandmother of three granddaughters, Stephanie, Jessica and Caitlyn Jacober, all of Trenton, Ill., brother Gene (Judy) Crites of Belleville, Ill., sister-in-law Judy (Rex) Tucker of Atlanta, GA., stepmother Lois Crites, half-brother James (Paula) Crites, half-sister Vickie (Phillip) Schwartzentrover all of Creal Springs, Ill., numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and several sisters of the heart.
