Ellen Marie Bruns, 60, of Wood River, IL, born January 13, 1957, passed away February 24, 2017 peacefully with her family at her bedside. Ellen was an Advocate for a women’s shelter in Madison County, She was selfless and would always be there to help others, She loved spending time with her grandchildren, playing with her dog Princess, and tending to her many potted plants and tomatoes.
Ellen was a former Co-Owner of E & J Printing in O’Fallon and a hard core St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Pauline Cullipher nee Burford; 2 sisters, Ann Cullipher and Shirley Cullipher; brother, Kenny Cullipher. She is survived by her children, John Bruns of New Baden, IL, Jason (Heather) Bruns of O’Fallon, IL, Kristin (Bobbi) Younker of Wood River, IL; sister, Linda (Al) Powers of New Baden, IL; 2 brothers, Bob (Diane) Cullipher of Belleville, IL, David (Susan) Cullipher of Granville, IL; 4 grandchildren, Morgan Bruns, Brogan Younker, Beckham Younker, Hazel Bruns and many nieces and nephews.
