Ellen L. Bridges, age 72, of Rensselaer went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, March 3, 2010. Ellen was born on September 8, 1937, in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Joe and Lorena (Horton) Kimbrell.
On May 24, 1956, in Chesnee South Carolina Ellen married Elbert “Al” L. Bridges who survives. Ellen graduated from Cowpens High School in Cowpens, South Carolina. Ellen retired from the Jasper County Jail where she was employed for 15 years as a matron. Prior, she was employed by Northway Products. Ellen was a member of the Remington Baptist Church. Ellen is survived by: her loving husband Elbert “Al” L. Bridges of Rensselaer, one son, Michael Bridges of West Lafayette, IN, two grand-daughters, Kelli Bridges and Mandi (Cody) Schleman, one sister, Alice Mayes of Spartanburg, S.C.
Ellen is preceded in death by; her parents, Joe and Lorena (Horton) Kimbrell, three brothers and three sisters.
