Ellen Jay Strickland, 99, of Cumming, GA passed away on July 7, 2011. Born in Forsyth County, she was preceded in death by her husband, Len Harris Strickland; parents, Joseph and Ellen Chadwick; sister, Myrtie Bruce; grandson, Gary Pruitt; and sons-in-laws, Amos Nichols and Carter Pruitt. Mrs. Strickland worked as a seamstress before retirement. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She made many homemade quilts. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley and Dorsey Streetman of Cumming, GA; daughter, Helen Nichols of Alpharetta, GA; granddaughter; Patricia and Joseph Coleman of Alpharetta, GA; granddaughter, Dianne and John Zouse of Cumming, GA; granddaughter, Malissa and Bobby Buice of Cumming, GA; great-grandchildren; Joshua Pruitt, Kimberly Ware, Christopher and Matthew Coleman, Amanda and Jessica Zouse, Corey and Tre Buice; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
