Ellen Jane (Sullivan) Tete of Burlington passed away on January 21, 2012 at Samaritan Hospice, Virtua Hospital, Mount Holly. She was 87. Her passing was twenty-four days after the death of her husband of 67 years, Oscar. Jane was born and raised in Burlington, the daughter of Anna May and William Sullivan. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sisters Dorothy Marshall, Isabel Whiteside, and nephew Brett Whiteside.
She is survived by her sister, Frances Moore, sisters-in-law Lena Renzo and Rachael Verilli, brother-in-law Joseph Tete, and cousin Charles Simmons. “Aunt Jane” looked upon her nieces, her nieces’ children, and her nieces’ grandchildren as her own. Surviving her are her nieces Janet Jordan and husband Drew, Darlene MacCrindle, Lorraine Moore; their children Terry Genosky and wife Holly, Kelly Fletcher, Bryan Moore, Craig Wilson and wife Melissa; their grandchildren TJ and Cody Genosky, Chase, Brandon and Ryan Fletcher and Emma and Sophie Wilson. Jane had a lifelong passion for animals and generously contributed her resources to a variety of organizations including the SPCA, Endangered Wildlife Fund and The Organization for the Training of Guide Dogs. Jane’s companion dog, “Kizzy”, brought such joy to her life. Samaritan Hospice was kind enough to allow “Kizzy” to share precious time with Jane in her final moments.
