Ellen and her Husband Harry worked during World War II at the Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Engine Company in Harford Conn. A true “Rosie the Riveter” Ellen worked one shift and Harry the other, shift work was also done at home with the children. Working with the cylinder heads on radial engines she insured that all on her line did quality work as her brother Bill was a test pilot for Grumman Aircraft and The U.S. Navy. Ellen and Harry moved the Key Largo, Florida in 1950. She spent most of her life there and raised her children. She lived also in Orlando Florida briefly and Weaverville, N.C. and Williston Florida.
