Ellarean Phillips Hill was born February 8, 1941 to the late Whitt and Cornelia Brown Phillips. She professed faith in Christ at an early age and joined Ebenezer Christian Church in Hillsboro, AL where she was a faithful member.  She loved her church family.

She was employed by the Lawrence County Board of Education for 31 years. Upon retirement she worked in home health care until her health began to decline. Ellarean loved everyone. She was a mother and a provider of shelter for all those that needed her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Charles Phillips, Percy Phillips and Whitt Phillips, Jr., three grandchildren, Tyron Perkins, Tancred Little and Chandralon Glover.

Ellarean leaves to cherish her memory: three children, Senecia (Earnest) Little, Hillsboro, AL, Charlie (Marietta) Hill, Hillsboro, AL, Monica (Larry) Kennedy, Decatur, AL; two sisters, Maggie Cooper, Detroit MI, Eugenia (Sylvester) Love, Decatur, AL; one brother, James Henry Watts, Detroit, MI; a very special nephew, Kenneth Phillips; adopted son, Anthony Tompkins; two loving sisters-in-law, Mary Phillips and Lucille Phillips; three special children that she helped raise, Walter (Melanie) Sherrod, Orlando FL, Lynn Griffith, Decatur, AL and Charla (Todd) Vandeberg, Zephyrhills, FL; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a person dear to her heart, Randy Wench; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
