Ella Mae Wood (nee Harper) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Friday March 6, 2015 at the Samaritan Healthcare and Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mt. Holly at the age of 85. Born in Mt. Holly, Ella was a longtime Burlington resident. She had worked for the Masonic Home of NJ in Burlington Twp., and later for Boscov’s in Moorestown.
She was predeceased by her brothers Sonny Harper, Gene Harper, Melvin Harris and Milton Harris, her sisters Shirley Stafford and Caroline Czaplicki. Wife of the late Lester C. Wood, Ella is survived by her four daughters and sons in law; Bonnie and Warren Trotto, Jr., of Burlington, Shirl and William Smith, III of Lindenwold, Brenda and Lawrence Whittman of Pemberton and Carol Potts and late husband Harrold of Pemberton, 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, sisters Ethel Leek of Mt. Holly and Irene McDowel of Burlington and brother James Harper of Mt. Holly.
