Ella Mae Willert passed away into God’s hands, at age 82, on July 20, 2011. Ella Mae was a beloved wife, mother, aunt, cousin, and friend. Faith, family, and friends were hallmarks of her life. She was a woman of great faith and her kindness and enthusiasm made her a friend to all. Ella Mae was born January 28, 1929 in Grafton, North Dakota where she grew up as an only child on a farm. She graduated from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing as an R.N. in 1950 and married Allen Willert the same year. They migrated to Phoenix in 1961 where she worked as a nurse for the Scottsdale School District. Ella Mae was selected “Arizona Nurse of the Year” in 1983.
