Ella Mae Blake age 84, ascended to be with our lord on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. Surrounding her in her final moments was her son, James Blake, and the loving staff of Brookdale Senior Living after a trying battle with Alzheimer’s.
Ella Mae was born January 7, 1937, in Rockwell, Iowa. She grew up alongside three brothers: Kenneth, Virgil and Dwayne. Virgil introduced her to her husband, William Robert Blake, during the Korean War and they were married soon after. She and William provided loving foster care for numerous children and adopted two.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William, brothers Dewayne and Virgil and son, Jeffrey. She is survived by her sons, James and Doug; daughter in law, Roni; grandchildren Dallas, Nathan and Lauren; and a great grandson, Zachary.
