Ella Louise Lowe, 81, of Jacksonville, died Thursday, October 11, 2007, at Barton Stone Home in Jacksonville.

She was born June 23, 1926, in Sinclair, the daughter of Charles and Emma Winter Robinson. She married Donald G. Lowe on Mar. 2, 1947, in Sinclair, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 1996.

She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Lowe (husband, Bill) Cors of Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Kimberly (husband, David) Pierson of RAF Lakenheath, England, and Cheryl (husband, Jason) Lindsey, Monica (husband, Jason) Gibson and Bradley (wife, Sarah) Cors, all of Jacksonville; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Irene (husband, Roy) Smith of Jacksonville, Charlene Strubbe of Danville and Mary Ann Williams of Alton. She was preceded in death by one son, Steven Lowe, who was killed in Vietnam; one great-grandson, Owen Joseph Cors; one sister, Evelyn Clayton; and one brother, Roland Robinson in infancy.

Mrs. Lowe was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, and was a 1944 graduate of Jacksonville High School. She worked for J.C. Penney in Jacksonville for seventeen years, then for Barton W. Stone Christian Home from 1980 until her retirement in 2001.
