Ella spent her younger years in New Meadows, Idaho where she met the love of her life, Austin “Fergie” Ferguson. They were married in 1951 and had three children: Mike (Lynnette), Steve (Lynell), and Linda (Drew). The Ferguson family lived in Idaho until 1966 when they moved to the Washington coast for work. In 1971, the family moved to Hope, British Columbia where they lived until 1978.  Ella enjoyed working in banking in Washington and Canada. In Hope, life was busy with raising a family, including many weekends spent at basketball games and tournaments.

In 2006, Ella moved to Idaho Falls to be closer to family.
In 2018, Ella moved back to her hometown of New Meadows and lived in the same neighborhood within sight of her childhood home.

Throughout Ella’s life, the most important thing to her was her family.
