Ella Underwood, 78, of New Market, passed away on Sunday at a local hospital.
Mrs. Underwood, a beloved wife and mother, was born in New Madrid, Missouri in 1937. She attended the St. Joseph School of Nursing in Memphis, Tennessee, and she spent her entire career as a nurse serving others. She was a kind and generous person.
Survivors include her husband, James K. “Jim” Underwood; Her daughter: Sandra Underwood; Her sons: Steve (Kris) Underwood of Franklin, TN, George Underwood of Huntsville, Andy (Darian) Underwood of Woodstock, Ga, and Joe (Angela) Underwood of Canton, Ga; 12 grandchildren. Her brother: Bill Boone of Dexter, Mo; Her sister: Helen Schott of Cape Girardeau, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her son, John Underwood, and by her granddaughter, Ashley Scott.
