Ella FoxAge 82 of Owosso passed away Wednesday November 21, 2018 at Pleasant View.Funeral services will be held 11am Monday November 26, 2018 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Billy Ray Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday November 25 from 12noon to 2pm and 4pm to 6pm.Ella was born January 30, 1936 in Detroit, the daughter of Victor and Gladys (Lucas) Ready. She graduated from Manton Consolidated School, class of 1954 and married Burton Fox in Manton on May 16, 1954. One year after marrying her husband, Ella traveled to Sendia, Japan to join him. Her first son was born just prior to them returning to the United States. Ella later traveled to Okinawa to be with her husband. She made this trip while caring for her four young children. Ella served as a den mother of a Cub Scout Pack while in Okinawa, and was proud of the accomplishments of her Cub Scouts. She was a strong supporter of her husband in all he chose to do as service to his Country and communities in which they lived. As a military wife, she often was required to fill the position of both mother and father while her husband was serving in Korea and Vietnam. This was no easy task, but she never complained about her need to fulfill that responsibility.Ella served her lord, alongside her husband in Prison Ministry until her health caused her to no longer fill that most important part of life. Even though she was unable to continue going into the prisons, she still continued to serve her Lord as a Prayer Warrior. Ella’s favorite scripture was Psalm 34 and she did her best to live her life trusting in God to strengthen her in times of weakness.Ella was diagnosed with lung cancer and the family chose to care for her with the help of Memorial Healthcare Hospice. As the cancer progressed it became more trying on the family to care for her at home. She requested us to make arrangements for her to move to PleasantView. This was totally her choice and God moved on our behalf and she was admitted at PleasantView in two days. The cancer continued to grow afflicting more pain and discomfort for her, but the entire staff at PleasantView showed such compassion in keeping her comfortable, which we are much appreciative. She was a model patient, showing the love of Jesus to all who came into her room, always giving encouragement to her caregivers. So much that they named her “Queen of Horizons” which was such an honor for such a great lady, by such a gratifying staff. She made many friends among the staff and residents of PleasantView. The family wants to give high thanks and appreciation to both Memorial Healthcare Hospice and PleasantView for their superior care and love shown to Ella during their time of serving her.She was a homemaker and spent her life raising and caring for her family.Ella is survived by her husband; sons Gary (Jennifer) Fox and Micheal (Michelle) Fox; daughters Christina (Randy) Badgero and Sharlene (Edward) Fleming; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many other loving family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Victor Ready, Gladys (Ready) Driver and Charles Driver; sisters Roxy and Arliss.Memorial contributions are suggested to Voice of the Martyrs or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
