Ella Arlene Lovelace Tupps, 71, Anderson, passed away May 13, 2012 at St. John’s Health System, Anderson, Indiana.

She was born June 12, 1940 in Anderson, Indiana, and resided in this area all of her life. Arlene was the valedictorian of Highland High School Class of 1958 and completed accounting coursework at the International Correspondence School. She married James E. Tupps on June 11, 1960. She served as the President of Hiawatha Mother’s Club and President of the Anderson Federation of Mother’s Clubs. She retired as a secretary from Anderson Community Schools in 2001 after 25 years at 29th Street and College Corner schools. She was a member of Pendleton Baptist Church where she was involved in the choir, nursery, junior church and Awana Club. She was known for her beautiful crocheted afghans and baby blankets. She was a member of St. John’s Health System Breast Cancer Support Group. She was also a Republican Lafayette-3rd Precinct Committeeman.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, James E. Tupps; sons, David A. Tupps Kimberley of Greeneville, Tennessee, Christopher S. Tupps Aimee of Grand Blanc, Michigan; and Kevin J. Tupps Stacy of Pendleton; siblings, Betty Bowers of Middletown, James Lovelace Kathleen of Americus, Georgia, and Paula Burton of Alexandria; seven grandchildren, Ryan Tupps Erika, Bryce Tupps, Tyler Tupps, Meggan Tupps, T.J. Tupps, Rachel Tupps, and Sean Tupps; one great granddaughter, Anya Tupps; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Doyle V. and Ruby P. Burton Lovelace; and several aunts and uncles.
