Elizabeth U. “Betty” Mount, 84, passed away unexpectedly at Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.
She was born in Marion, the daughter of the late Olen and Eva (Sharp) Allen. She married Russell Mount in Jonesboro on November 8, 1943. He preceded her in death September 15, 2007. Mrs. Mount was a 1943 graduate of Jefferson Township High School and had worked for several years at the Upland Greenhouse. She sold shirts for NTPA with her husband and in 1985 was honored with the Lyle Bishman Award. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. Betty was a 65 year member of the Hartford City Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy Sower, Upland; a granddaughter, Jennifer (Stan) Ervin; Warren, grandsons, Jeff Sower, Upland, Steve Mount, Jonesboro, Charles Mount, Marion; great grandchildren: Jonathan, Jason, Rachel Ervin, Kayla Koch, Skye Sower, Brothers, Olen Allen, Jr., Paul Allen; sister-in-law, Martha Piner,; special friend, Jackie Edwards.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Donald, and sisters, Maxine Endsley, Naomi Carper, and Delene Sherron.
