Elizabeth “Betty” T. Galante, 87 of Silver Ridge Park North section of Berkeley Township died on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ. Born in Guttenburg, NJ she lived in Dumont, NJ for 32 years before moving to Silver Ridge Park North in 1985.
She was a graduate of St. Joseph of the Palisades High School in West New York, NJ. Betty was a member of the SRP North Women’s Club. She was an avid reader and loved knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles, and cards. She also had a warm and generous heart and always routed for the underdog. She summered in Budd Lake, NJ most of her life.
She is predeceased by her parents Nicholas and Victoria Renn, her brother Nicholas Renn, her sister Bertha Philpott and her son Robert C. Galante.
Survived by a devoted husband of 65 years Joseph R. Galante. Betty was also a loving and caring mother to her daughters Victoria Fagan and her husband Barry of Bayville, NJ and Lisa Dante and her husband Tony of Forked River, NJ, and her son James and his wife Anne of Rock Tavern, NY, a dear sister to Mary Crowley and her husband Richard of Tenafly, NJ, also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren
