Elizabeth G. Stoeckl, 82, of O’Fallon, Ill., born September 15, 1924 in Chicago, Ill., died Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at Cedar Ridge Health Care Center, Lebanon, Ill.
Betty was a devoted Irish Catholic mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will forever be remembered for her wit and will. She was a telephone operator at Bell Telephone during World War II and was also a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Grace, nee Maloney, Hennessey, husband Carl E. Stoeckl Jr. and a brother James Hennessey. Betty is survived by a daughter Kathleen (Thomas Brown) Vigna of O’Fallon, Ill., 4 sons; Robert (Cherie) Stoeckl of Hartsburg, MO, Thomas Stoeckl of Belleville, Ill., James Stoeckl of Belleville, Ill., Timothy (Lana) Stoeckl of Ballwin, MO., a brother Frank Hennessey of San Luis Obispo, CA, 8 grandchildren; Jennifer (Matt) Missey, Lauren (George) Meier, Sean Vigna, Melanie Vigna, Tim Stoeckl, Sarah Stoeckl, Samuel Stoeckl, Tom Stoeckl, 8 great grandchildren and beloved friend Alice Kovitta. The family of Elizabeth Stoeckl would like to extend a special thanks to Heartland Hospice, especially Alex, Holly & Brenda and to Cedar Ridge Health Care Center.
