Elizabeth Stella Piekarski Petrillo, 89, of Hamden passed away July 27, 2013. She was the wife of the late Louis “Porky” Petrillo. Born in New Haven on May 25, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Agnes Bethke Piekarski. She formerly worked in the Food Bank Dept. at KeefeCenter in Hamden. Elizabeth was very proud of her Polish heritage. She enjoyed attending ClelianCenter at Mount Sacred Heart and loved sharing stories of her childhood. She loved playing bingo and pinochle. Among her favorite things were listening to Elvis Presley music, her dogs and birds, and collecting dolls and jointed teddy bears. She is survived by one son, Paul (Donna) Petrillo of North Haven; one daughter, Gail Cimino of Hamden; 6 grandchildren, Samantha Cimino-Barry (Jamie), Stacy Cimino-Cacace (David), Christopher Cimino (Fran), Gina Petrillo-Foster (Christopher), Louis and Ashley Petrillo; and 6 great grandchildren, Sophia, Lilly, Tyler, Jake, Valentino & Scarlett. She was predeceased by 4 brothers, Erwin, Walter, Henry & Arthur Piekarski and a sister, Clementine Johnson. The family would like to acknowledge the care given to Lizzy by the staff at Hamden Health Care.
