Elizabeth Phelps Squires, 81, of China Grove, NC passed away July 16, 2014 at Northeast Medical Center.
She was born January 9, 1933 in Moriah, NY, the daughter of the late Marjorie and Thomas Phelps.
Elizabeth graduated from Moriah High School and Albany Business College. She was a cook for The Italian Grove, catered for China Grove Elementary School, made cakes for parties, and was a Den Mother for the Mohegan Council B.S.A.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David V. Squires in August of 2010; brother, Thomas Phelps; and sister, Gail Phelps.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Charles Squires Sr. and David V. Squires Jr., both of Connecticut and Michael L. Squires (Victoria) of China Grove; daughter, Marjorie J. Boll (Charles) of China Grove; grandchildren, Edward, Charles Jr., and Cheyenne Squires, Jason Swindle, Kassie Magalis, Christina and Mary Boll, all of NC, Nathan (Amber) and Drew Squires of Conn., Patricia Goodman (Timothy) of China Grove, Mary Ann Lane (Justin) of Kannapolis, NC and Michael Squires Jr. of China Gove, NC; sister, Gwyneth King of Moriah, NY; 24 great-grandchildren: Abigail, Aiden, Bishop, Caydance, Charles, Dakota, Damien, Edward, HenLey, Isiaih, Imani, Jaxson, Kamden, Katelyn, Kirston, Laylen, Leigha, Madison, Maxamus, Michael, Nicholas, Raleigh, Victoria, and Xander.
