Elizabeth (Meserian) Hawkins, 90, of Middletown, passed away on Saturday, July 4th with her daughter by her side. Born in Hopedale, MA, she was the daughter of the late Varak and Mary (Bzdigian) Meserian. Elizabeth had lived in Middletown since 1981. She and her husband had built their home doing most of the work themselves. She had a business making wedding ornaments for cakes, was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft doing secretarial work and worked for a Newsletter called “Alert” for Women’s Legislative Review. She also co-owned a snack bar at a local health club. Elizabeth lived her life through her intuition, optimism, and spirituality and enjoying life each day. Elizabeth is survived by her son, Andrew H. White and his wife, Karen of Wingate, NC; her daughter, Victoria Elizabeth Engelhardt and her husband, Drew of East Haddam; and two sisters, Rosemary Arcieri of Williamsburg, VA and Anne Loftice of Van Alstyne, TX. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Zabelle Haroian and Kohar Torino. A time of remembrance will be shared with family at her daughter’s home on a date to be announced.
