Elizabeth Marks, 93, of Colorado Springs passed away on Monday, July 20, 2009.
Elizabeth was born on October 24, 1915 in Sullivan, Indiana to Pauline and Ransom Akin.
After growing up in Sullivan, she graduated from High School in New Jersey and Duke University in 1937. Following her marriage to Dr. Howard H. Marks, they resided in Huntington, Indiana until his death. A lifelong resident of Huntington since 1945, Elizabeth was active in the First Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder. She was an active long-time member of Tri Kappa Sorority, Sorosis, 1st Mother’s Club and Study Club. In 1994 she moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother and homemaker with an outgoing personality and loving spirit. During her residency in Colorado Springs, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and she enjoyed Colorado sightseeing and visiting her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Marks of Colorado Springs, two sons, Dr. William Marks (Rebecca) of Rancho Santa Fe, CA and Dr. John Marks (Ann) of Kalamazoo, MI, two grandsons, Andrew and Thomas, two granddaughters, Kathryn and Sarah and three great-grandchildren.
