Elisabeth Marie Ditmer, 92, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, July 24, at Valley View Health Care in Elkhart.
She was born October 13, 1923, in Elkhart, the daughter of Earl J. and Orpha W. (Lutz) Snook.
On June 23, 1945, she married her husband of 69 years, Marlin E. Ditmer. He preceded her in death Nov. 7, 2014.
Elisabeth was a graduate of Elkhart High School Class of 1941.
She was a member of Nappanee Missionary Church and the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include one daughter, Anne (Tony) Hemminger of Elkhart; two sons, Thomas (Becky) Ditmer of Mishawaka and James (Barbara) Ditmer of Granger; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother, Joseph Snook.
In addition to being a loving homemaker, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her Lord and Savior.
She and her husband Marlin enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Florida.
Elisabeth was an accomplished pianist and organist. She was an avid bowler and golfer and always looked forward to going to the spa with friends.
Elisabeth loved having overnighters with her grandchildren and playing games. She served as the librarian and organist at Hubbard Hill Estates.
