Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” Marie (Bukovsky) Weidinger , of Flagstaff, Arizona since 1987, passed away November 20, 2007 at the Olivia White Hospice Home. She was born to Frank J. Bukovsky and Marie Ann Nazinova both immigrating to the United States from Czechoslovakia. Her father was acknowledged for saving the life of President Theodore Roosevelt.
She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 26, l912 but spent most of her younger years in Chicago, Illinois. During her time in Chicago she worked for the Rock Island Arsenal and also at the Chicago Quartermaster Depot. At times she could also be found working in her father’s bakery. She moved to Winslow, Arizona in 1946 after marrying Joseph E. Weidinger on August 31 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Chicago,Illinois. While in Winslow she worked for Western Savings, Cable Vision and upon her retirement was employed at Cable Com General. She was an active member of her Church and her children’s school.
Betty, Gramma, was most known for the love that she shared with all those who met her.
She had an un-abiding faith in God and un-faltering love for her family. She had a smile for everyone at all times. She could be found with balloons in her purse for those children who may need one, in the market, on the street or even in church. When asked how she was, she was always fine, because she felt that you would always get what you say!
She is survived by her son Joseph E. Weidinger (Becky), daughter Julianne E.HartzeIl (Richard) of Flagstaff, and her niece, Marilyn K. Wade (Tim) of Mesa and nephew, Joseph Bukovsky of Illinois. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Joseph E. Weidinger, her parents Frank and Marie Bukovsky, her sisters, Marie Kuck, and Frances (Bucky) Weidinger, her brother Joseph Bukovsky, and her nephew William (Buzz) Weidinger.
