Elizabeth Mary (Marino) Afasano passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 5, 2012. She was the wife of the late Vincent Afasano. Elizabeth was born in New Haven, CT on August 30, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Giovanna (Sette) Marino. Mother to Lawrence (Marianne) Amato and Concetta (Neil) Riggione and their father, the late Ralph Amato. Beloved grandmother to Martin and Liza Riggione and Jonathan Amato. Sister of Teresa Cuomo and Agnes DeNello and her brother, the late Benjamin Marino. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Always dressed to perfection, she was loved by so many people. Among her passions were baking, especially her Italian cookies and crème pies, knitting, sewing and decorating. She left this world with dignity and strength. Life will not be the same without Betty.
