Elizabeth Lee (Cook) Auten, 80, of Salem, Arkansas, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

She was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on February 25, 1937, daughter of the late Sarah (White) and Elvin Leroy Cook. Elizabeth spent her life as a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was united in marriage to the late Frank Elton Auten in Cave City, Arkansas on February 25, 1954 and from this union one son was born, Frankie Lee Auten. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas. During her working years, she worked as a housekeeper and cook for nursing homes and raised chickens. Elizabeth loved cooking and baking. She made the best fried chicken and loved to bake pies. Elizabeth enjoyed her family and seeing everyone happy. She always had a smile on her face.

Elizabeth is survived by her son, Frankie Lee Auten and wife Shelia of Salem, Arkansas; grandchildren, John Auten and wife Alisha of Mobile, Alabama, Crystal Thornton of Salem, Arkansas, Jennifer Auten of Robertsdale, Alabama, Sarah Auten of Salem, Arkansas, Stanley Mitchell and wife Holley of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Chad Mitchell of Wynne, Arkansas and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Auten; parents, Sarah and Elvin Cook and granddaughter, Melissa Auten.
