Elizabeth (Betty) Jean Fox joined her Heavenly Father on Monday, May 13 at the age of 93.
Betty was born, on January 18, 1926, in Indianapolis, a daughter of Leo and Mary Scott. She attended Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Kathryn, and her husband, Kenneth Fox.
Betty was a lifelong caregiver. She worked at Culver Hospital as a CNA in almost every department until the day they closed the doors and then went to work at the new hospital until she retired. Betty didn’t stop there, she continued to work as a pink lady and was also a hospice caregiver. She cared for several friends up until the very end. She truly loved taking care of her family and others who needed her. Some of the best days of her life were spent taking care of her great-grandson, Grayson Fox Todd. She was a devoted Christian and attended Bernard Church. She enjoyed donating her time in the kitchen at St Bernard School, walking, and reading. Betty was a regular face at the public library (reading up to 10 books a week).
Surviving family includes brother, Leo Bud Scott, daughter, Judy Todd (Lester), son, Michael Fox (Lupita), grandchildren, Jennifer Cullings (AJ), Carrie Rosen (Doug), Nathan Fox Houston (Lesya), Eliza Fox Stephenson (Mark), Isaac Fox Houston (Laura), Hannah Fox, Matthew Fox, and Anthony Fox, as well as 9 great-grandchildren.
