Mrs. Elizabeth Fox McClain was the baby girl born to the late Judge Carl and Ella Lee Fox on March 24th 1924 in Siler City, North Carolina.  She transitioned into eternal rest  January 9, 2020 at the age of 95.

In Siler City, she met and married the late Marlowe McClain and through their union was born  two daughters: Terri McClain of Siler City and Tanya Guidry (Kevin) of Providence Forge, Virginia.  Her family also included three grandchildren: Alicia Washum (Shaun) of Norfolk, VA, Michael Guidry of Tallahassee FL, Alexa Guidry of Providence Forge, VA, three great grand children Marley, Devynn and Mason of Norfolk VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family friends.

Elizabeth, sometimes called Liz, lived a long and wonderful life. She joined Corinth AME Zion church after marriage where she served as a Missionary and a Deaconess for many years until her health declined. She devoted her life to her family and had been a blessing to them. Elizabeth loved telling stories of how she grew up, people she knew, families she took care of over the years, and the places she’d been.  She received numerous awards and certificates for her achievements.  She loved crocheting, and at one time would make clothes for her girls, and blankets for her grandchildren.  She was always willing to help and encourage others with her uplifting attitude, and was a joy to be around. She will be deeply missed.

I thought of you today

But that is nothing new.

I thought about you yesterday

And days before that, too.

I think of you in silence,

I often speak your name

All I have are memories and your picture in a frame.

Your memory is a keepsake from

Which I will never part.

God has you in His arms,

I have you in my heart.
