Elizabeth F. Emmel
Newark – Elizabeth Fletcher Emmel, 92, died peacefully Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at the Wayne County Nursing Home.
Elizabeth was born the daughter of the late Harold and Veva Hayes Fletcher on October 31, 1914 in Canandaigua, New York. She graduated from Canandaigua Academy. Elizabeth and her late husband made their home in Newark, starting with their first year of marriage in 1937. She worked in the accounting department of CH Stuart Company in Newark for many years.
Mrs. Emmel in her later years enjoyed reading Danielle Steel romance novels. She was a member of Park Presbyterian Church in Newark for several years.
Mrs. Emmel will be remembered by her son James F. Emmel of Cary, North Carolina; grandchildren, James A. Emmel and Elizabeth A. Emmel both of Raleigh, North Carolina; sister and brother-in-law, Pat & Joseph Panzarella of Canandaigua; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Fletcher of Canandaigua and Marsha Fletcher of Gates; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Francis G. Emmel in 2003 and four brothers William, Lee, Al and Pete Fletcher.
