Kriekard, Elizabeth Eveline, of Kalamazoo, Michigan Went to be with her Lord on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence at the age of 93. She was born April 27, 1921 in Wayne, Michigan to the late Hersey and Helena Schidzig Lucas, the youngest of seven children.
She was a graduate of Wayne High School and Albion College and taught for several years in an elementary school in Plymouth, Michigan. She married Gordon H. Kriekard in 1947 and in 1949 they moved to Kalamazoo; he preceded her in death in 1992. She was a member of the Parchment United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She had many and varied interests during her life. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and family.
She also enjoyed music, art and theater, was an avid reader, played bridge, was a Tiger baseball fan and traveled in and outside the United States. She loved to walk, especially outside enjoying the nature of her surroundings. In addition, she volunteered her time with the American Association of University Women and as a librarian at the School craft Ladies Library.
She is survived by her children Carol Stephen Armstrong Kriekard of Evanston, Illinois, Paul Terry Kriekard of Ogden, Utah and William Kriekard of Portage, Michigan; her grandchildren Eric and Brian Armstrong, Tony Kriekard and Mackenzie Kriekard; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Vera, Arlene, Marie, Carl, Maynard and Robert. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
