Eve GoodwinJuly 29, 1943 – December 4, 2020O’Fallon, Illinois – Elizabeth Eve Goodwin, nee Horne, 77, of O’Fallon, IL, born July 29, 1943, in Highland, SC, died peacefully on Friday, December 4, 2020, at Evelyn’s House hospice home.
Mrs. Goodwin was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who spent many decades as a teacher and volunteer for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her Bachelor’s in Marketing from the University of South Carolina, love of reading, sharp business sense, and financial acumen provided her the capacity to greatly serve her family and others. She leaves behind the legacy of her love for the Savior, and her examples of generosity and lifelong learning.
She was preceded in death by her brother John (Jack) Horne of Lebanon, PA, and sister Carol Wright of Savannah, GA; her parents, John Davison Horne and Elizabeth (Bet) Horne Cooper, nee Eve; and her cats Snowflake, Baby, Marmalade, Sadie, Chippie, Emma and William. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Malcolm N. Goodwin, Jr., MD, with whom she eloped in 1964, and to whom she was sealed for time and all eternity in 1974; her children, Malcolm (Katherine) N. Goodwin, III and Sarah Amelia (Krishaan) Anderson; her five grandchildren: Gabriel Black, Rebekah, and Vivian Goodwin, and Hiram and Annaleigh Anderson; and her cats Abbott and Costello.
