Elizabeth “Beth” Clare Johnson, mother, sister, and friend to many, left this world on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at age 76 in Newnan, GA. Born on August 10, 1944, she was the daughter of Reverend Henry McCoy Johnson and Gladys Thayer. Beth loved books and exploring spirituality in all its forms. Most of all, though, she loved her family. Wherever she traveled, she knew the best book shops and loved to spend time rifling through every one – you never knew what gem you might find. She could tear through a book in a few hours, and her knowledge on various subjects could not be matched. She was also able to make an existential crisis out of something as simple as whether or not to eat a piece of chocolate (which she was allergic to). She is survived by two children, Kristin Hendrix and Erik Hendrix, her siblings, Rosemary Woodall, Michael Johnson, and Evalynn Johnson, as well as two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Beth introduced her family and friends to many well-rounded topics through the years and, without a doubt, her impact was felt… and she will be missed. “It is safe for you to sleep; what you fear has already happened. Let it go. Life is not all pain, my daughter. Feel the joy of my love, that never dies.” – ECJ
