Elizabeth A. (Clair) Riccardi, 101, of Newington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 28, 2017 with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Riccardi. Born in Hartford, daughter of Patrick and Mary (Tierney) Clair, she was a longtime Newington resident and a member of St. Mary’s Church. Elizabeth always had a positive attitude and saw the good in everyone and in every situation. She was an excellent listener but also loved telling her grandchildren stories about her life experiences and how proud she was of her Irish heritage. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she leaves her children: Rick Riccardi and wife Joan of Port Charlotte, FL, Sharon Riccardi of East Hartford, and Beverlee Shallcross of Seekonk, MA; her adored grandchildren: Peter Shallcross, Keith Shallcross and Lynne Nero and husband Christopher; “Nana Senior” also leaves her cherished great-grandchildren: Cameron, Britt Clair and Cole Nero. She was predeceased by her siblings: John and Edward Clair and Marie Christie.
